  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
  • Masters or Doctorate degree may substitute for required experience
  • 4 to 6 years of experience with software development including deployment, automation, systems/application analysis and design
  • 3+ years of combined experience with Application Server Administration (WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Liberty)
  • 2+ years of combined experience with UrbanCode Deploy
  • 1+ year of experience with Ansible automationFactors to Help You Shine (Required Skills):These skills will help you succeed in this position:
    • Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server administration in Linux.
    • Solid experience automating application deployments for WebSphere using IBM UrbanCode Deploy.
    • Strong experience in automating tasks scripting languages like Shell, Python.
    • Experience developing build scripts using Apache Ant and Apache Maven.
    • Basic experience with configuration management and provisioning tools (Ansible automation, CloudFormation / Terraform)
    • Basic knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration
    • Solid experience with version control software such as Git/Bitbucket.
    • Basic knowledge with Java EE, Java generics, and concurrent programmingHow to Stand Out from the Crowd (Desired Skills)Showcase your knowledge of modern development using data streaming and event-based architecture through the following experience or skills:

        • Develop, design, code, and implement next-generation deployment automation using system/software engineering best practices and the latest technologies:
          • DevOps (Jenkins, Red Hat OpenShift, Docker)
          • Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration-as-Code (UrbanCode Deploy, Ansible, Scripting)
          • Administer IBM WebSphere Application Server including installing, migrating, upgrading, deploying, troubleshooting, and configurating on Linux.
          • Provide engineering contributions in one or more of these areas: software deployment, application monitoring and performance tuning, Microservice architecture, container orchestration, security, or auto-scaling & application reliability engineering.
          • Work closely and collaboratively with a small tightly knit high performing team of Leidos engineers and customer technical leads
          • Investigate and repair application defects with development team regardless of component: front-end, business logic, middleware, CI/CD pipeline, or database (PL/SQL and Data Modeling). Triage Java exceptions and tune JVM/application server
          • Brief management, customer, team, or vendors using written and oral skills at appropriate technical level for audience
          • All other duties as assigned or directedEducation & Qualifications
            • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field with 12 to 15 years of experience
            • Masters or Doctorate degree may substitute for required experience
