Job Description:
Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites
applications for a Wellness Programs Intern to join our
Professional Development and Wellness (PDW) Department. This
position is a 32 hours per week internship opportunity based out of
our regional office located in Washington, D.C. with a hybrid work
model. Please note, this position is ineligible for benefits . The

Reporting to the Senior Program Manager of Wellness and working
closely with the Senior Program Manager of Mentoring and
Onboarding, the Wellness Intern supports the development,
promotion, management, and evaluation of wellness programs designed
to support the well-being of MAPMG physicians and staff. This role
provides a meaningful environment in which to gain hands-on
experience in corporate wellness programming, communications, and
program evaluation, while contributing to strategic initiatives
across the Professional Development and Wellness Department. You
can expect to: Support the ongoing maintenance of the Professional
Development & Wellness (PDW) program database to track
participation, attendance, and engagement across wellness
initiatives. Assist with program evaluation through data
collection, survey distribution, and analysis of engagement and
feedback. Promote physician and staff wellness resources through
various communication channels including the PDW WordPress website,
Microsoft Viva Engage groups, SharePoint sites, webinars, email
communications, and internal campaigns. Coordinate logistics for
wellness events and activities including interest-based events,
sports clubs, annual Wellness Weekend, and wellness-related
communications or mailings. Support wellness program planning by
assisting with marketing materials, program implementation, program
evaluation, and the preparation of program summaries for
stakeholders. Assist in enhancing promotional efforts for MAPMG’s
Peer Support Program. Contribute to onboarding and mentoring
initiatives by supporting program logistics, communications, and
evaluation efforts. Observe and assist with coordination of MAPMG’s
two-day orientation program for newly hired physicians. Assist with
maintaining and updating WordPress content for onboarding resources
to ensure information is accurate and well organized. Support the
Shared Success Mentoring Program through data analysis, evaluation
activities, and development of communications such as a monthly
mentoring newsletter. Collaborate with internal and external
stakeholders to support wellness initiatives focused on mental
well-being, resiliency, burnout prevention, joy in medicine, and
opportunities for colleague connection and engagement. Conduct
literature reviews and attend webinars to stay informed about
emerging research and best practices in physician and staff
wellness. What is required: Must be a self-starter who is proactive
and able to work independently while contributing to team-based
initiatives. Must be a current student enrolled in a Bachelor’s or
Master’s degree program in Public Health, Health Promotion,
Exercise Science, Nutrition Science, Health Communication, or a
related wellness-focused field. Demonstrated interest in
healthcare, employee wellness, and organizational well-being
programs. Experience in database management and program evaluation.
Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills
required. Ability to manage tasks independently and meet project
timelines. Strong research skills, including the ability to perform
literature and reference searches. Highly proficient in Microsoft
Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience creating
surveys using SurveyMonkey preferred. Experience working
independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Experience creating infographics or visual materials using tools
such as Canva preferred. Must be able to commute to the Washington
D.C. regional office as needed Candidates must either currently
live in or be willing to relocate to the Washington D.C.
metropolitan area Must provide documentation of the Covid vaccine
2-dose series (or J&J 1-dose) prior to October 1, 2023, or
documentation for 1-dose of the most current Covid vaccine (Pfizer
or Moderna) as a condition of employment. Must provide
documentation for the influenza vaccine as a condition of
employment The starting hourly rate for this position ranges from
$20.00 to $25.00, which considers an applicant’s skills and
qualifications, certain degrees and prior job experience, training,
market data, and other relevant factors. Internships are non-exempt
