valued contributor to our team, you will apply your extensive and
diversified knowledge of principles, advanced techniques, and
theories to create unprecedented solutions related to monitoring
and evaluating threats to Fannie Mae's cybersecurity. In this role,
you will set up checks and warnings to alert management when
suspicious activity is detected. You will also ensure that new and
existing technologies are being used to their fullest extent for
detection, response, and intelligence operations. Additionally, you
will participate in proof of concept (POC) evaluations, and the
recommendation of new technologies and processes. This role will
report to the Director of Threat Detection and Response.THE IMPACT
YOU WILL MAKEResponsibilitiesThe Threat Defense and Response
Engineer role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your
own, while working alongside people who care so that you can
deliver on the following responsibilities
- Provide deep expertise in detection, incident response and
cyber intelligence during the planning of new solutions and
capabilities to ensure TDR requirements are considered and met
- Ensure that Information Security applications and appliances
are fully utilized to protect Fannie Mae assets
- Work to integrate various toolsets to add additional context
and enrichment to events and alerts with a goal of decreasing
detection and analysis times.
- Develop solutions to automate detection and response
capabilities where possible
- Recommend improvements to TDR processes, procedures, guidelines
and standards
- Make TDR leadership aware of new technologies and technical
initiatives within Infosec and the business
- Serve as a Cyber Detection and Response SME for project within
InfoSec and the BusinessQualificationsTHE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO
THE TEAMMinimum Required Experiences
- 6 yearsDesired Experiences
- Bachelor degree or equivalentSkills/Tools
- Expert knowledge of detection, incident response and
intelligence gathering tools. Including, but limited to, Splunk
Enterprise Security, Carbon Black Cloud Endpoint Protection, O365
Protection Suite, Acessdata Enterprise Forensics, Anomali
ThreatStream, etc
- Must have extensive scripting and automation experience using
either Python, Golang, Perl or other scripting language.
- Familiar with detection and response in the cloud, specifically
AWS and Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with the breakdown complex problems into smaller,
more manageable pieces and coming up with solutions for those
problems.
- Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of TDR including
Detection, Incident Response, Cyber Intelligence and Insider
