Job Description
THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE
The Sr. Splunk Engineer will lead a team of engineers to design, develop and implement platform solutions to provide centralized log analytics and service health monitoring capabilities for business applications running in hybrid environments on-prem and AWS cloud. Responsible for designing, integrating, and managing large scale enterprise systems including - Forwarders spanning across multiple on-prem datacenters and AWS Cloud, logs and metrics from AWS services. Work closely with Cloud Architecture team to understand the overall cloud strategy and design solutions to meet the requirements. Integrate the Enterprise Splunk Platform with various data sources including AWS Cloudwatch logs, Events and Metrics.
Key Job Functions

  • Lead a team of Splunk engineers to build and maintain a large scale Splunk Enterprise Platform and/or Splunk SaaS integrations
  • Deploy highly resilient, secure multi-region Splunk Enterprise platform to support a large number of AWS accounts.
  • Design and implement high performance integrations/solutions for multi-terabytes of log and metrics ingestion from AWS CloudWatch
  • Design and build integrations with third party SaaS providers like Salesforce, Catchpoint to ingest logs and performance data using REST interface, HEC.
  • Define the monitoring requirements for Enterprise Splunk Platform server infrastructure for health, performance, capacity planning and optimization, license consumption/make recommendations based on trends in license usage.
  • Focus on deploying the large scale Splunk platform in AWS cloud environment for performance and log analytics data from various cloud native services.
  • Troubleshoot and debug the Splunk platform performance and outage scenarios.
  • Define best practices for Splunk Enterprise Onboarding of new data sources
    Qualifications
    THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
    Required Experience
    • 6-8 years of related experience
    • Splunk certifications: Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect, Splunk SaaS admin
    • 5+ years of experience as Splunk Architect in a large scale environment
    • 4+ years of experience as Solutions Architect in AWS environment
    • 3+ years of experience in designing and developing solutions using AWS Kinesis, S3, Lambda, EC2, KMS, Code Commit and Code pipeline
    • Expert-level knowledge with regular expression, Splunk inputs, transforms
    • Strong problem solving, logic, and analytical skills
    • Knowledge of Linux shell scripting and Python
      Desired Experience
      • Bachelors Degree
      • Relevant professional certifications such as Splunk or AWS certification
      • Prior experience as Systems Administrator is a plus
