Plant Engineer (Process Engineer) Position:Full-Time, Salaried

Virginia23234 Job Summary: The Solvent Recovery Run Plant
Engineerserves as a vital resource for operations by applying
technical skills to optimize plant operations, resolve plant
problems, and enable safe and efficient production of low cost,
quality products. Run Plant Engineers serve as the first technical
point of escalation for operation challenges. They understand
customer needs and drive high levels of quality, responsiveness,
and reliability for the customer. Run Plant Engineers identify
metrics and management systems to optimize production. They are
responsible for Key Performance Indicators, trend process variables
to ensure optimal performance, and respond urgently to production
issues. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Possess strong sense of
ownership and are accountable for the success and failure of their
assigned unit. Show courageous leadership by coaching, asking
questions, and intervening when needed. Challenge status quo and
past norms to make the operation more effective and safer. Set up
metrics and management systems to drive optimization of the plant.
Earn respect and trust of operations team because of their great
problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and communication.
Elevate and appropriately apply knowledge of their plant and
technology study historical data, convene with other Subject Mater
Experts (SMEs), etc. Ensure Manufacturing Technology is utilized,
and that process automation is used as a tool to optimize plant
performance. Partner with the experts to perform advanced
troubleshooting and improve operating discipline. Diagnose and
document root causes of asset utilization losses in the facility.
Understand why specific procedure steps and precautions are needed
and keep a strong field presence to reinforce the importance.
Update and improve upon operating procedures. Conduct daily review
of logbook, process trends, and alarm history to better understand
the plant operation and stay engaged with daily activities.
Maintain, own, and review daily Key Performance Indicators
(KPIs)/trends to ensure optimum performance. Works with Supply
Chain and Production Planning to optimize production schedule.
Respond urgently to plant issues and emergencies. Act as a unit
technical expert during unplanned events and drive implementation
of effective corrective and preventative actions. Ensure compliance
with plant operating permits. Lead projects requiring Management of
Change to improve the operating areas performance. Leverage
knowledge of process technology, fundamentals, and procedures to
train shop floor personnel. Create and manage area process tests.
Qualifications: BS in Chemical Engineering. 3-10 years of
manufacturing experience required. Distillation experience
preferred. Process Safety Management (High Hazard Process/Low
Hazard Operation) experience preferred. Lean/Six Sigma experience
