Job Description Job Description Job Title: Senior Civil Engineer Job Description The Senior Civil Engineer will play a crucial role in planning, designing, and obtaining permits for civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects. You will work on site/civil engineering design for a variety of projects including mixed-use developments, shopping centers, residential areas, higher education institutions, and federal projects in a dynamic learning environment. Responsibilities Assist with the preparation and modification of engineering documents, including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and cost estimates using engineering and design software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Design and oversee site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion, and sediment control from concept through completion. Conduct stormwater management design, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, and SWPPP preparation. Demonstrate experience in land development engineering, integrating geotechnical and environmental engineering. Perform other duties as requested. Essential Skills Proficiency in stormwater management design, drainage design, site grading, sediment control, erosion control, and site planning. Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. 2-6 years of professional civil engineering experience in site/civil design, including land development, stormwater management, site grading, and erosion & sediment control. EIT (Engineer-in-Training) Certification. PE License is preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications Local and related civil engineering experience in land development projects. Technical and proposal writing experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with current local, state, and federal land use permitting is a plus. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Arlington, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $72000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
