IAI is seeking a motivated Payload EO Systems Engineer to work onsite with one of our IC customers in Reston, VA. A qualified candidate will have broad experience working in the development, test, deployment, and operations of EO systems. Job Duties: Perform Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) functions in the design, development, testing, deployment, and operations of EO systems - from quick reaction prototypes to operational systems Conduct trade studies of EO systems and technologies against intelligence requirements Develop or assist in the development and execution of acquisition strategies and source selections for EO systems Develop or assist in the development of the technical Systems Requirement Document for EO systems Perform modeling, simulation, and analysis and assessments of EO systems Develop and present technical briefings and documentation Work independently and in a team environment Position Requirements: 10+ years' experience working with EO systems Experience with end-to-end engineering acquisition lifecycle Experience working with a broad range of EO technologies spanning IR, multispectral, hyperspectral, laser, interferometry, and LIDAR Understanding of source to sensor radiative transfer and physical phenomena Experience in electro-optical (EO) payload performance modeling, simulation, and analysis Familiarity with focal plane arrays, Fourier optics, linear system theory, radiative transfer, geometrical optics, linear algebra, vector calculus, coordinate transforms, and electromagnetics Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to succeed in a team environment Strong written and verbal communications skills Education: Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering, Physics or related discipline; or equivalent experience; graduate level degrees is desired.
