Overview:
Thompson Hospitality, formed in 1992, is the 6th largest food service company and the largest minority-owned Food Service business in the United States. The restaurant and retail division operates four different concepts with locations in the Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. area, serving over 1.9 million guests each year. -The Benefits Manager plans, directs, and coordinates our health and welfare benefits, retirement plan, workers' compensation insurance, leave management program, and ADA process. -

Responsibilities:
THIS JOB IS IN OFFICE FIRST 60 DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT. HYBRID THEREAFTER (2 Days in OFFICE) -RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for the administration of various company-sponsored benefit programs with an emphasis on offering competitive benefits to attract and retain talent while limiting company and employee costs. Benefits include:Medical, dental, and vision insurance plans (medical plan is self-insured)Health spending accounts, flexible spending accounts (health and childcare)Life insurance and disability plans401(k) retirement planTuition reimbursementEmployee assistance program592 college savings planLegal services and pet insurancePaid time offResearch, select, and implement all employee benefit plansEnsure legal compliance with employee benefit programs including reporting, disclosures, and auditsOversee workers' compensation programOrchestrate multiple paid time off plansManage all leaves of absence and accommodation requestsResponsible for maintenance of Benefits Admin softwareOversee payment and reconciliation of all benefits accounts -Provide education and training for various benefits including New Hire Orientation, Open Enrollment, and other periodic events. -Supervise a three-person team for efficient administration and highly effective customer service

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:A bachelor's degree and five (5) years of relevant experience with 2 years of supervisor experienceAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with employees at all levels and outside partiesDexterity managing a team in a fast-paced, high-volume, constantly changing environmentKnowledge of federal & state regulations pertaining to benefits and design.Mathematical aptitude and analysis skills.Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail, follow-up, and problem resolution.
