Job Description:

We're looking for an Assistant Property Manager that processes new resident applications, addresses and resolves tenant issues and complaints, oversees any necessary repairs/projects, assists in marketing the property, and manages the financial aspects of the business.

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities of an Assistant Property Manager*
--- Processes rent payments.
--- Inquires about late payments and assists in handling any eviction issues
--- Interviews new prospective residents and gives tours of property.
--- Processes applications, conducts credit checks and calls references.
--- Distributes and collects leases and ensures that all required legal documents are signed.
--- Addresses and promptly resolves questions, requests, and complaints from tenants.
--- Creates and distributes marketing materials for the property management company.
--- Inspects property on a regular basis to assess condition of buildings and grounds, and to ensure that empty units are ready for new tenants.
--- Oversee completion of necessary repairs and maintenance.
--- Assists in hiring a grounds crew and other staff necessary for the upkeep of the property.
--- Reports any problems or issues to property manager.
--- Manages records and files of current tenants.
--- Responds to emergency maintenance or safety calls.

*Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities*
--- Demonstrates the strong organizational skills necessary to oversee a number of different properties.
--- Possesses knowledge of the real estate industry, including market trends, prices, and state and federal housing regulations.
--- Proficient in basic computer programs including Microsoft Word and Excel.
--- Demonstrates familiarity with financial management software used to balance budget and track payments.
--- Must be willing and able to travel to various property sites.
--- Must be detail oriented with ability to manage time efficiently.
--- Exhibits solid communication skills, with an ability to calmly resolve disputes or complaints.
--- Works well with a team.
--- Interacts and engages in a friendly manner with potential and current tenants.
--- Demonstrates ability to think creatively in order to develop new marketing and recruiting techniques.

*Education and Experience*
--- High school diploma or GED.
--- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Business or Management preferred.
--- Real estate, property management, or customer service experience required.
--- Expected to complete necessary Fair Housing and Occupational Safety and Hazard Administration certifications.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

* Reston, VA 20191: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:
* Customer service: 3 years (Required)

License/Certification:
* Driver's License (Preferred)
