part of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers you will be
responsible for creating a company that creates rockets, both
managing and leading teams in the hands-on design, development,
supplier management, and system engineering across the GS2 fluids
system.You will have integral responsibility for employee
performance through professional development, mentoring, technical
guidance, and development of training programs. Technical
leadership will be required to drive the team to solve difficult
problems, incorporate changes, and lead failure investigations. As
a leader across the GS2 system you will be responsible setting and
enforcing design standards, working interfaces between systems, and
solving technical and programmatic issues. You will step in as
Director GS2 fluid analysis when necessary, both from an Manger and
technical stand point (including Engineering Change Approvals,
Drawings, Technical Specifications, and Purchase Orders). This
position reports directly to the Director of GS2 Fluids design,
analysis and systems engineering in the New Glenn business unitYou
will need a proven ability to develop, execute, and improve
technical processes in the design and development cycle of rockets
by formulating and implementing preventative and corrective
actions. Ability to lead and mentor teammates in a highly
collaborative environment is essential. Passion for our mission is
required!Qualifications:
- Minimum B.S. degree in engineering or science (aerospace,
mechanical, chemical, nuclear, or physics desired)
- 2+ years managing technical teams and/or leading functional
groups of employees
- 5+ years of aerospace industry or related field experience
- Strong technical fundamentals in fluids, thermodynamics, heat
transfer, stress analysis, and fluid design
- Experience with cryogenic components and aerospace testing
campaigns
- Familiarity working with supplier and supplier management
- Ability to work in a cooperative, fast paced, and dynamic
environment
- Launch vehicle experience
- Strong project management and leadership skills focused on
delivering results
- Strong supplier management and conflict resolution
experience
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication
skills
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional
relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident
(current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as
a refugee or granted asylumDesired:
- Experience managing personnel, budgets, or test resources
- Solid understanding of rocket engines and components
- Experience with discrepancy reports, failure investigations,
and corrective actions
- Familiarity with rocket engine system operations, verification
