Tactical Space Systems Division (TSSD) is seeking a Sr. Director of
Software and GNC Engineering to lead the Software and Guidance
Navigation and Control Disciplines of our engineering matrix. The
ideal candidate will be responsible for providing the personnel,
processes and software tools to meet the current and future needs
of the programs and technologies within our NSS and CCS Space
business unit areas. This person must demonstrate success leading
locally and virtually as a part of a geographically dispersed
team.The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate success
in applying leadership characteristics to achieve sustainable top

capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing
business. In this role, the ideal candidate will possess the
ability to balance programmatic needs to deliver results within
cost, schedule, and quality parameters while encouraging and

teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and
coaching, are a must.This position may be performed from Dulles, VA
or Gilbert, AZ.Other responsibilities may include:Identification of
high-quality technical personnel to meet the increasing demand of
the business.Provide the technical and people leadership needed to
establish and maintain an exceptional functional organization
across multiple locations, divisions and programs.Provide oversite
and leadership to our Space Flight and Ground Software, Guidance
Navigation and Control, Software Test and Integration, DevOps, and
R&D related teams.Responsibility for the development, design,
implementation, application, training, and product support of
state-of-the-art solutions in support of key targets within the
TSSD Portfolio.Managing budgets required for the disciplines to
perform their statements of work; provide functional oversight
across the disciplines, including bid and proposal inputs for
future work, independent technical reviews of major programs and
R&D projects as well as organizational budget
management.Establish and maintain the discipline specific processes
and tools for TSSD.Facilitate and promote Affordability, Knowledge
Management, Engineering Utilization, and other process improvement
initiatives including the implementation and monitoring of metrics
covering engineering efficiency and quality, as well as sharing of
lessons learned and best practices throughout the
organization.Championing consistency across the disciplines
ensuring reuse, common tools and training/skill development through
all levels of the organization.Basic Qualifications:Active or
current Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI level
access.Bachelor of Science in a STEM (Science, Technology,
Engineering, Math - or related technical area).10 years of
leadership experience leading programs, projects and personnel.10
years of Software/Systems related experience with a high
proficiency in technical problem solving to include decomposition,
root cause analysis, solution development, implementation and
monitoring.Previous work experience leading software, GNC, or
systems teams on a diverse range of program sizes, values and
complexity.Demonstrated software engineering, controls, or systems
engineering leadership experience, preferably with experience in
Space Flight Software, Satellite Ground Software or Spacecraft GNC
Design and Analysis.Working knowledge of Staffing, Engineering
Metrics and Training resources, processes, and tools.Ability to
identify gaps, forecast potential issues to successful product
performance and the ability to apply root cause analysis
skills.Ability to form strong partnership to ensure lockstep
coordination with adjacent discipline areas and program manager
leadership.Excellent verbal and writing communication skills are
required.The ideal candidates will have demonstrated success in
influencing the direction of technology or engineering
discriminators, including identifying and championing change within
the organization, to achieve competitive advantage for the
business.Preferred Qualifications:Master of Science in Engineering
or other STEM discipline and/or MBA degreeActive TS/SCI
ClearanceHands-on technical experience with spacecraft or satellite
related systemsProven experience leading technical diverse teams
across multiple locationsAdept with Agile methodology, concepts and
implementationExperience implementing DevOps principlesSalary
Range: $192,600.00 - $334,400.00Employees may be eligible for a
discretionary bonus in addition to base -pay. Annual bonuses are
designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow
employees to share in company results. -Employees in Vice President
or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. -In
