are currently seeking qualified candidates for the general position
of Project Director and Chief of Party in Global Health and
Population Business Unit to be included in our repository of
technical expertise in the areas of: population, health,
environment and development (PHED); family planning and
reproductive health (FP/RH), adolescent sexual and reproductive
health and rights (AYSRHR); gender; gender-based violence
prevention and response. In addition to providing technical
direction, the Project Director/Chief of Party position provides
cross cutting program management, operations support, project
design, and knowledge sharing and learning. This position also has
a lead role in client relationships, project reporting, budgeting,
supporting the financial management and reporting, project start-up
and close-out etc. This is a general job requisition for Project
Director and Chief of Party related positions offered at FHI 360.
We are looking to gather resumes from qualified candidates with an
interest/background in being a Project Director or Chief of Party

contingent upon award. Position Summary The Project Director/Chief
of Party will be responsible for overall technical leadership,
management, and operations of the activity. They will ensure that
the project's goals, objectives, and strategy are achieved and that
contractual requirements are met on time and within budget. The COP
will take a leadership role in coordination of all activities
across all relevant parties, including the funder and partners for
the project. They will also oversee all project staff and
sub-partners to results-oriented planning, leadership, and
coordination of project activities and products.We are seeking
candidates from these countries and regions where we currently work
.FHI 360 is also pursuing global awards, based in the various
countries above. For these positions, the Project Director or Chief
of Party may be based in the US but would ideally be in one of the
regions where the projects operate. - Accountabilities:
- Responsible for creating, promoting, and maintaining safe and
equitable work environments for all personnel, including a
harassment- and violence-free work culture, and systems for
safeguarding project participants.
- Ensure high-quality, results-oriented technical programming
through hands-on guidance and support grounded in the program's
strategic objectives and approved annual workplans and adhering to
expected technical quality and reporting requirements.
- Provide overall management, strategic direction, and leadership
to the project to achieve expected project goals and results within
budget and timeframe.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with the funder regarding
the day-to-day activity implementation and management matters
relating to the agreement.
- Coordinates and is responsible for the preparation of the
annual work plans, budgets, and annual progress reports in a timely
fashion for submission to the funder. -
- Ensures high technical standards are used to guide the
technical and programmatic aspects of work plans and
activities.
- Plans, directs, and coordinates activities to ensure that goals
and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and
funding parameters.
- Establishes annual work plans, project teams, and SOPs to meet
project goals and ensure compliance with policies. -
- Facilitate ongoing project learning and adaptive
management.
- Ensure that solid relationships are built and maintained
between and among FHI 360 and sub-awardee project staff, the
funder, and key regional and national stakeholders.
- Supports performance management and professional development of
direct reports, including ongoing feedback, coaching, and career
support. Education:
- For bi-lateral awards, Bachelor's Degree or its International
Equivalent in Public Health, Civil Society, Communication and
Social Marketing, Economic Development, Education, Climate
Sciences, Environment, Gender, Nutrition, Research, Technology and
Youth or a Related Fields.
- For global awards, Master's Degree or its International
Equivalent in Public Health, Civil Society, Communication and
Social Marketing, Economic Development, Education, Climate
Sciences, Environment, Gender, Nutrition, Research, Technology and
Youth or a Related Fields.
- Project Management (PM) Certification preferred. Experience:
- For bi-lateral awards, typically requires 12+ years of relevant
experience with projects management principles and practices
(including 8+ years of strategic leadership and/or line management
experience).
- For global awards, typically requires 15+ years of relevant
experience with projects management principles and practices
(including 10+ years of strategic leadership and/or line management
experience).
- Typically requires a minimum of 5+ years of Chief of Party,
Principal Investigator or Project Director experience on government
funded sector and/or value chain development projects.
- Proficient with applicable rules, regulations, and policies
associated with international development and non-governmental
organizations (NGOs).
- Demonstrated experience in multi-sector project management and
implementation.
- Demonstrated strategic planning, staff development and capacity
building experience.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing complex
projects that are strategic in nature and national/international in
scope. Experience operating in insecure environments.
- Experience working in a non-governmental organization
(NGO).
- Fluency in local language and knowledge of culture and context
preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
required. Fluency in French is also desired. The expected -hiring
-salary range for this role is listed below. FHI 360 pay ranges
represent national averages that vary by geographic location. When
determining an offer amount, FHI 360 factors in multiple
considerations, including but not limited to: relevant years of
experience and education possessed by the applicant, internal
equity, business sector, and budget. - Base salary is only one
component of our offer. FHI 360 contributes 12% of monthly base pay
to a money purchase pension plan account. Additionally, all US
based staff working full-time, which is calculated at 40
hours/week, receive 18 days of paid vacation per year, 12 sick days
per year, and 11 holidays per year. Paid time off is reduced pro
rata for employees working less than a full-time schedule. Hiring
Salary Range: - $106,000 - $193,000 This job posting summarizes the
