The role of Vice President, Talent Development reflects the company’s continued commitment to and strategic investment in developing the current and future leaders of the company. The VP Talent Development will play a critical role in fostering a learning environment and culture to drive employee retention, fuel future business growth, and develop leadership as a competitive advantage for the company. He/she will report directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer and will lead the Learning and Development, Center for Leadership Excellence, Succession Management, Performance Management, and Career Mobility functions. This role will be based out of Reston, VA. Success for the Vice President, Talent Development will represent the following: In partnership with business leaders and the HR team, build a high performance mindset and learning culture within COMPANY. Put in place the programs, processes, tools, and metrics to reward high performing employees and position the company for continued growth and success from a talent perspective. Establish development opportunities that are optimal for the various demographics in COMPANY’s global workforce. Leverage technology and analytics to ensure that learning decisions are based on data. Key Responsibilities Serve as a key leader within the company as well the Human Resources (HR) organization. Be a trusted advisor and resource to the Chief Human Resources Officer and HR leadership team. Drive a learning environment and build employee capability for future growth by aligning COMPANY’s corporate strategy to all learning and development programs. Drive a high-performance culture through the implementation of talent reviews, effective performance management, and influencing rewards programs. Develop integrated processes for performance management, employee and leadership development, succession planning, and rewards. Implement a succession planning program and assist the business groups with developing succession plans throughout their organizations. Develop and implement a robust employee development program. Develop and implement a comprehensive leadership development program aligned to COMPANY’s leadership competencies. Evaluate the Talent Development organization. Build a high-performance team capable of meeting the objectives of the organization and company. Be part of the internal succession plan for HR leadership roles within COMPANY. Manage a budget and be accountable for achieving objectives within budget and on schedule. Core Abilities, Skills and Experience 10-15 years managing a learning organization in a professional services company, with strong foundation in talent management and leadership development. At least 5 years in a senior management role. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong leadership skills, proven analytic ability, and the ability to influence the decision making process. A Bachelor’s degree in Organization Development or Human Resources; Master’s degree highly preferred.
