Medical Assistant An ADP Client, Executive Healthcare Services is currently seeking a Medical Assistant to join the team in Reston, VA 20191. EHS Title: Care Coordinator I (CC-I) Industry Title: Medical Assistant About the Role: The CC - I (Care Coordinator) role is an introductory position at EHS cross-trained in both clinical and administrative teams providing efficient coordination of services, going above and beyond to care for EHS clients through exceptional over-all medical care. Team members in this role require support as they learn how EHS offers the highest levels of personalized medical care. Clinical Team Lead, Nurse Manager, Clinicians, or EC---s may routinely evaluate CC-I communications, offer guidance on prioritization, provide specific instruction on tasks, and provide on-going feedback regarding work. What You---ll Do: Under the direct supervision of the CCC-Lead, with direction from Ordering Clinicians, Executive Coordinators, and Operations Director, CC-I---s perform the following tasks: --- Assist with clinical support including visit intake, vitals, venipuncture, vaccine administration, EKG, Spirometry and other in-house procedures, as well as phone support, and proactive chronic care reminders in accordance with EHS standards. --- Provide administrative backup including answering phones, in house scheduling, care coordination, pre-visit admin planning, demographics updates, fax management, visit check in/out, and limited support for billing tasks, such as updating payment methods and providing receipts upon request. --- Assist with Rx Management, as requested in accordance to clinician---s orders, including standing orders. --- Maintain ongoing task tracking and appropriate documentation to promote team awareness and ensure client safety. This tracking may require functional use of multiple platforms in accordance with procedure. --- Assist in obtaining current records, updating client's primary care chart with information on specialist consults, hospitalizations, ER visits and community organizations related to their health. --- Contact facilities and insurance companies to ensure prior approval requirements are met. --- Review details and expectations about medical care with clients, using appropriate templates and approved verbiage, reminding clients of scheduled appointments via e-mail or phone based on personal preferences or time constraints. --- Assist in confirming care plans are addressed, appointments were kept, and all pre and post visit reports/notes/results are processed appropriately, in a timely manner. --- Seek to understand how to become a healthcare system navigator to become the point of contact for clients and families, allowing clients and families to have a direct source for asking questions and raising concerns. --- Establish and maintain positive relationships with identified service facilities, and all referral sources. --- Ensure compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA and CLIA. --- Demonstrate a friendly, professional manner with clients, clinicians, peers, vendors, and associates. --- Maintain office and treatment room aseptic status with consideration for aesthetics and comfort. --- Perform other tasks as requested by Clinicians, Executive Coordinators, or Team Leads. Our ideal candidate: Qualifications, Education and Experience --- Minimum Three (3) Years of relevant Medical office experience with proficiency in office clinical skills required. --- Accredited CMA program/associate degree preferred. --- CMA License or equivalent experience --- Medical Care Knowledge and Skills. --- Knowledge of Medical practice and care, Primary care medicine preferred. --- Knowledge of medical terminology, basic billing procedural code knowledge preferred. --- Competency in general office clinical skills, visit intake, and documentation. --- Common quality, safety, privacy, and infection control precautions. --- Understand medical regulations, including HIPAA and HITECH rule. --- Demonstrate tact, and discretion, maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism. Supervision Hierarchy: Reports to the Clinical & Engagement Team Leads for task supervision (Clinical / Administrative). Clinical Oversight is provided by all clinicians and owning partners, delegating through Executive Coordinators. Administrative performance oversight is managed through the Operations Director. Compensation/Benefits: --- Salary Range: Starting at $20.00/hr. Essential Metrics: To Outline the minimum measurable outcomes expected of this role, the following metrics will be evaluated: --- Thorough, personalized primary care, including appropriate pre-visit planning, check-in/check-out/chart management, intake, visit preparation, and presentation with appropriate documentation completed immediately after intake for clinician reference. --- Communications and reminders are sent using appropriate templates and EHS follow up protocols. --- Appropriate Task Management buckets are kept up to date in accordance to EHS processes. --- Monthly Visit Goals are met. --- Client Tasks assigned or received before 5pm are addressed in accordance to EHS processes. --- Maintain clinical competencies, obtaining 90% or higher avg. score for clinical skills testing --- Assistance with incoming/outgoing phone calls.
