Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a
qualified Oncology RN in Richmond, Virginia, 23219! Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Outpatient Clinic
Hematology Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift:
9.5 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in oncology nursing License:
Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, OCN*, Chemo
(ONS/ONCC)* Must-Have: Epic charting experience required
Description: Will accept inpatient oncology experience. Will not
accept any other outpatient clinic experience except infusion
clinic. The center provides day hospital and outpatient clinic
services to patients undergoing various hematology and oncology
treatments. This is a fast-paced clinic that offers the opportunity
to rotate through multiple areas such as infusion, day hospital,
lab, and bone marrow biopsy suite. Responsibilities include
chemotherapy and biotherapy administration and management,
including investigational protocols. Transfusion of blood,
platelets, and fresh frozen plasma is required. Port draw,
phlebotomy, and central line access are essential. Central line
care is included in the responsibilities. The procedural area
involves bone marrow biopsy and aspiration with minimal analgesia
and recovery. Management of toxicities related to chemotherapy and
biotherapy is part of the role. Candidates will monitor patients
with neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, anemia, and electrolyte
abnormalities, including repletion. Candidates may float within the
scope as needed. Applicants are expected to have a BSN and two
years of charge experience preferred. References are required.
