Facility Information Facility: GSS ND Park River Location: Park River, ND Address: 301 Co Rd 12B, Park River, ND 58270, USA Shift: 8 Hours - Evening Shifts Job Schedule: Full-time Weekly Hours: 40.00 Salary Range: $21.00 - $25.00 Pay Info: $5,000 Sign-on Bonus Available Job Summary The Nursing Assistant (NA) plays a vital role in providing care to residents during their scheduled shifts in long-term care settings. This position focuses on delivering resident-centered nursing care and assisting with daily living activities under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN). The NA is responsible for understanding and implementing age-appropriate care tailored to the physical and psychological needs of residents as outlined in their care plans. As a member of the nursing team, the NA is expected to adhere to infection prevention protocols and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately. Key responsibilities include: Assisting with essential health care needs, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and obtaining vital signs. Providing psychosocial support and personal care to assigned residents. Facilitating safe transfers, repositioning, and ambulation using proper techniques and equipment. Engaging in food preparation and dining activities to enhance the dining experience for residents. Supporting residents during meals and ensuring they have access to water and nutritional supplements. The NA also collaborates with healthcare providers and nursing staff during procedures as necessary. Responsibilities include documenting resident interactions and care outcomes, communicating any changes in residents' conditions to the charge nurse, and collecting non-invasive body fluid specimens. Additionally, the NA assists with housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living environments and supports wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident participation. Participation in departmental committees and task forces may also be required. Qualifications High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) is preferred but not mandatory. Minimum age requirement is 16 years. Previous experience as a clinical or nursing assistant in long-term care is preferred. Must possess a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from the State Board of Nursing or be enrolled in a training program to obtain certification within four months of starting the position. CNA training and certification will be provided by the facility. Completion of annual department-specific competency testing and maintenance of continuing education credits (minimum of 12 hours required annually). For applicable states, must be certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry. Depending on facility requirements, this role may be classified as a Sanford Category II Driver, necessitating a motor vehicle report and proof of a valid driver’s license.
