Job Description Job Description ROLE SUMMARY: The Product
Development Chef is responsible for developing and refining recipes
for new food products, ensuring they are feasible for large-scale
production. The position plays a vital role by combining culinary
creativity with practical considerations to help bring new and
exciting food products to market. This position requires a blend of
artistic flair and analytical skills to ensure that products are
not only innovative but also viable for production and
distribution. This role is located on-site at our Jessup, MD
facility, with a Monday through Friday work schedule. KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES: Product Development Process (PDP): - Acquire a
firm understanding of the PDP to share ideas and support new item
concepts. - Collaborate with the cross-functional team, marketing,
procurement, quality, food safety, and operations. - Transform new
concepts and food product ideas into innovative recipes. - Ensure
new products are delicious and compliant with food safety
regulations. - Recipes are cost effective and are viable for high
speed/bulk manufacturing. - Establish ratios for ingredients and
finalize recipes for production and product launch. Research and
Trend Analysis: - Stay updated on emerging food trends and consumer
preferences. - Including: new ingredients and culinary techniques.
Test Kitchen: - Participate in the development and layout of Test
Kitchen. - Maintain, Manage, and Improve Test Kitchen. - Assist in
Identifying equipment needs Including brands, sizes, and
quantities. - Maintain a proper preventative maintenance schedule.
- Work with the Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) team to
establish proper SOPs for Food Safety and Sanitation. Production
and Operations: - Scale up recipes for efficient commercial
production. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: - Possesses culinary
expertise with a passion for food. - Previous experience in menu
development and large-scale recipe formulation. - Working within a
commercial kitchen or manufacturing environment is required. -
Experience working within a Product Development Process. -
Familiarity with ingredient functionality and food safety
standards. - Excellent communication and project management skills
are necessary. - Proficient with Microsoft 365, especially Excel,
Outlook, and Word. KEY BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES: - Communication:
