LEAD FULL STACK JAVA DEVELOPER ALTA IT Services is seeking a Lead Full Stack Java Developer, on a long-term (12 months+) contract basis to support a respected health insurance customer. Work is COVID remote with the eventual intention of an onsite/remote hybrid model, in Reston, VA. This is a lead developer role requiring 10+ years of core Java full stack development experience, Java, JEE, Angular 8+, Web Services, Spring Boot, REST, Spring Integration Framework etc. The role will work closely with stakeholders, product owners, business analysts and shared services teams such as infrastructure, environment mgmt. The Lead Developer will join a highly skilled team, with responsibilities encompassing hands-on design and development, and also guiding and mentoring junior and mid-level developers. This role will morph into more mentoring and code review, but it's currently hands-on technical. REQUIRED SKILLS 10+ years of hands on Java development experienceMust have front-end development experience, using Angular web development framework.Must have Java development experience with ability to develop middleware components using the Spring frameworks.Must have Java development experience with ability to develop unit / integration test cases using Junit /TestNg.Must have ability to understand and work with code developed by other developers.Must have ability to work independently.Must have experience with web services and understanding of RESTful / SOA Services.Must have extensive experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.Must have strong experience in continuous integration within DevOps environment.Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (in English) to articulate progress, impediments and opportunities to a wide variety of stakeholdersMust have ability to effectively multi-task, delegate and guide mid- to senior-level engineersMust have ability to review and assess impact of technical improvement initiatives (upgrades, vulnerability resolution, modernization/transformation, etc.) and inform team membersNice to have experience with working on front end applications using JavaScript, JQuery, AngularJS and Bootstrap.Nice to have experience in working with API Management Tools.Nice to have Experience in working with GIT/BitBucket.Nice to have AWS migration experience and how best to leverage a cloud-native tools stack to harness the capabilities of the cloudNice to have AWS Associate or Professional certification(s) (Solutions Architect, Developer, SysOps Administrator)Nice to have data integration/ETL development experience, preferably with Ab Initio and Big Data software.
