- This role is onsite (5 days onsite / week)
- Public Trust clearance required.Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science, Computer Science or related field
- 5 years' minimum experience, if no BS degree 7 years relevant
experience
- Windows production server environment Certifications.
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)Responsibilities:
- Responsible for server operations inclusive of hardware,
operating system (OS), and utilities on the servers.
- Displays expertise in one or more operating systems and is
responsible for configuration, patch management, version and
sub-version upgrades, and all aspects of the availability of
servers, with the exception of COTS / GOTS applications.
- Acts as Tier 2 response in operations environment where
resolution cannot be handled by on-site Tier 1 staff.
- Registry modifications supporting application releases and
environment troubleshooting.
- Data access supporting application releases.
- Windows and application configuration file modifications for
application releases and troubleshooting.
- System account password resets.
- Application code deployment Database administration Patches for
OS, databases, and applications.
- Restart services and databases.
- Rebuild and support servers including clustered
configurations.
- Rebuild search indexes.
- Reorganize files on drives.
- Manage drive redundancy.
- Middleware support.
- Technical analysis and troubleshooting of server
performance.
- Production Support activities to ensure interfaces run
correctly.
- Ad hoc reports covering infrastructure use and
performance.
- Cleaning up "data spills" when a user includes classified data
inadvertently in application data which requires to physically
delete/move data.
- System and application log maintenance.
- Deleting corrupt user preferences.
- Deleting database records after abnormal termination of
processes.
- Add/deactivate lists of values (drop-down list values).
