Jacobs is seeking a Network Systems Administrator with an active TS/SCI Polygraph for the Reston, VA Office. * Provide operations and maintenance support of network management applications that support an Enterprise Network * Performs technical evaluations, analysis, and troubleshooting for all supported servers * Performs setup and installation and/or upgrade services of hardware/software components * Provides support to projects that are impacted by or are impacting network management applications * Proactively identifies risks in the network an assists in the development of a plan to mitigate * Will be required to function at a high level team atmosphere; daily communications with team members on a wide range of continuously changing network topics, requirements and projects * Active TS/SCI with Poly security clearance * BS degree in a computer or system science discipline from an accredited college or university and fourteen (14) years of progressive, relevant experience, or an MS degree in a computer or system science discipline and twelve (12) years of progressive experience, or a Ph.D. degree in a computer or system discipline and seven (7) years of progressive experience * Hands on knowledge of troubleshooting and fault isolation of IT business systems * Experience as a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role * Demonstrated (intermediate level) hands-on experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining network management application services and equipment * Hands-on experience with server upgrades, patch management and server transitioning * Must be familiar with various operating systems and platforms (i.e., Windows, Unix, Linux, Oracle, AWS) * Must be a self-starter, resourceful and sustain a problem-solving aptitude * Strong communication skills * Must understand and implement established technical and workflow procedures * Ability to create scripts in Bash, Expect, Python, Perl or other languages is highly desired Essential Functions Physical Requirements: Most work will be done at a desk or computer. Work Environment: General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers. Equipment & Machines: General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment. Attendance: Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.
