Perspecta is an AA/EEO Employer - Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled and other protected categories Responsibilities The selected Database Architect will provide data management support services for the Federal Protective Service (FPS) information technology systems to assist with implementation of an integrated approach to using and sharing data across both the FPS and the National Protection and Programs Directorate (NPPD) enterprises. The Database Architect will design, implement and maintain moderately complex databases, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation and statistical methods. Responsibilities include: Maintaining database dictionaries, monitor standards and procedures and integration of systems through database design. Reviewing and recommending updates to the FPS Data Management Strategy Providing data management support as a method to improve acquisition quality and system development and maintenance Developing, recommending, and executing plans, policies, programs and practices that control, protect, deliver and enhance the value of FPS data and information assets Developing and maintaining data management and architecture documentation for FPS infrastructure and software systems Analyzing and recommending ways to improve FPS data management and architecture, and associated activities Assisting FPS with navigating the process to insert or update new capabilities, services or data elements into DHS enterprise architecture Qualifications Required Skills: Experience designing, developing, and maintaining data interfaces and sharing agreements Experience in data modeling and facilitation. Experience using ERWIN, SQL Designer, other data modeling tools Experience evaluating new tools and methodologies Experience supporting the development and maintenance of web based applications with Microsoft SQL Server is required Experience maintaining optimal database performance and identifying/resolving production support issues Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server is required The candidate must be proficient writing SQL queries Knowledge of all phases of SELC and full lifecycle implementations Requires minimum Associates Degree and/or 5 to 15 years of experience. BA/BS degree preferred US Citizenship Required Ability to pass Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) and obtain Public Trust Clearance Preferred: Active DHS EOD Options
