Postgres Performance and Tuning DBAs and developers Location: Reston, VA Duration: 6 Months+ Details: 7+ years overall software industry experience. 5+ years Java development 5+ years of scripting languages such as korn-shells and Python 2+ years of front end frameworks such as AngularJS Experience using tools like JIRA and Confluence, etc. PostgreSQL hands-on experience in writing, troubleshooting and performance tuning SQL queries, stored procedures, packages, functions. Oracle PL/SQL expertise and in-depth knowledge of enterprise level development and tuning. Experience in converting existing Oracle 12c DB solutions/applications to PostgreSQL or data warehouse such as Netezza and AWS Redshift. Experience building an automation-focused culture, both in testing and build/deploy Willing to learn database administration Have passion in learning new technologies and willing to go outside of comfort zone. Serve on-call rotation and occasional weekend works. Nice to have skills: DBA experience with one or more of Oracle, Postgres, AWS RDS. Knowledge and experience in Data Warehousing (30TB+) is preferred Experience in database design, development and data modeling Experience in agile development Experiences developing applications in AWS Experience with configuration management tools like Puppet, Chef, or Ansible. Ability to troubleshoot database performance issues in a production environment
