Ellucian is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial leader to join us as Vice President of Solutions Marketing. In this role, you will lead the solutions Marketing vision, strategy, and team based on a deep understanding of our customer, their needs and the marketplace. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring we are positioned as the clear choice for Higher Education institutional leaders, operating at the intersection of Product Development, Sales Strategy & Operations, CX, and other Marketing teams to communicate our unique value proposition in innovative and impactful ways. And you will be responsible for ensuring we build, develop, and retain a world-class team to market the full portfolio of Ellucian’s solutions and services.. Our ideal candidate is technically oriented and also a strong storyteller, able to leverage a background in growing cloud and SaaS businesses to map a a complex set of personas and needs to a robust portfolio of solutions and distill this into powerful and differentiated messages.. Where you will make an impact. Evaluate and refine our current messaging and positioning across the full portfolio of Ellucian solutions and services, establishing a messaging strategy that is communicated consistently throughout the customer journey. Develop and maintain understanding of buyer and influencer persona profiles, aligning key messages to critical needs throughout the buyers’ journeys. Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to define the target audiences for each solution, including personas and messaging required to reach them effectively. Create a culture of launch excellence. Lead customer marketing initiatives designed to help customers increase adoption and usage of existing solutions, to optimize value of investments and build loyalty and advocacy. Oversee customer advocacy efforts to drive both share growth and customer satisfaction and loyalty. Serves at the Content Strategist for ongoing virtual user and prospect events, partnering with product management, field marketing, and sales to ensure content plans are aligned to market needs. Lead partner marketing efforts, working closely with large portfolio of current partners and assisting in securing new partners. Inform product and marketing strategy by staying on the cutting edge of higher education market trends, the digital ecosystem, customer behaviors, new opportunities, geographic differences and competitive threats. Support analyst, media and sales programs and serve as one of the company experts to position Ellucian in the minds of the press and influencer community and deliver positive outcomes. Equip our sales teams to win more deals with messaging, sales strategies, materials, tools, and market knowledge, with the aim of increasing close rate. Serve as a conduit between the field (sales and customers) and the product organization. Lead a team of product marketers, providing clear direction and guidance in support of individual development needs, organizational objectives, and business goals. What you will bring. 15+ years of product marketing experience, with at least 5 in B2B enterprise software (SaaS experience preferred). Proven success building and motivating high-functioning, diverse and geographically dispersed product marketing teams, with 5+ years of senior level experience with similar sized company; experience providing leadership & coaching to develop, empower and drive success. Successful track record of high-impact product and portfolio marketing in technology industry, with proven success leading complex, high-impact launch efforts. Experience developing and leveraging personas and journey maps, tailoring messaging to target buyers based on their needs and journey stages. Energetic, passionate and articulate communicator who can convey information to a wide variety of internal and external audiences, write and deliver quality presentations that are adjusted by audience, and articulate complex, technical information. Ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure adoption and execution of consistent messaging. Ability to champion and execute new and innovative approaches, ideas, methods, processes, products and services. Strong negotiation and influence skills across multiple stakeholder groups. A strategic yet execution-oriented leader who enjoys both planning and digging into details. Proven ability to build, measure and report on key performance metrics. Strong interpersonal and team-building capabilities, ability to develop strong trust-based relationships and manage effectively. An affinity for dynamic, high-pressure environments.
