Jacobs has an opening for a Network Architect with an active
TS/SCI polygraph to support a client in the Reston, VA area. Duties

Expertise, training and actual work experience with the specific
computer language, systems, and/or technology is significantly more
important than the number of years of experience. This is
especially true with emerging technologies.
In-depth understanding of networking systems and TCP/IP to
include experience in IP Addressing and Subnetting; Network Address
Translations; MTU; QoS.
Certifications: CCNP, CCVP, CCSP, CCIP, CCDP, JNCIS or 15-20
years of experience in IP network technology
Strong knowledge of Routing and Switching systems (Cisco or
Juniper); understanding of Routing Protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP)
and Gateway Redundancy Protocols (HSRP, VRRP, and GLRP).
A working knowledge of STP, VTP and Virtual LAN’s and Trunking
(VLAN’s); Network Security (ACL’s, IPSec Tunnels); SONET, ATM,
MPLS, POS, Multicast and how to properly implement these
Bachelors degree or higher Computer Science, Information
Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical
discipline is highly desired
Most work will be done at a desk or computer.
General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced
and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of
the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with
other members of the staff as well as individuals across the
Company and Customers.
Equipment & Machines:
General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers,
Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office
Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a
40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times
and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be
