Key Qualifications

8+ years of software development experience

2+ years of hands on experience with big data (terabytes or better) computing using Apache Cassandra

5+ years of hands on experience with Java, J2EE

Experience in designing and implementing high throughput, fault tolerant, distributed systems

Strong ability to learn new technologies in a short period of time

Familiarity with other big data technologies is a plus

Experience with multi-threaded and/or distributed computing concepts

Highly motivated and detailed oriented

Team player with excellent problem solving and communication skills

Description

R&D IS&T is seeking senior Cassandra engineer with the right mix of skills to successfully participate on complex cross-functional projects. You'll work with a team of very talented engineers and passionate application owners, to define and evangelize OS X/iOS diagnostic data analytic systems. You will share in a commitment to drive innovation with excellence by partnering with our business partners; including software engineering, hardware engineering, operations, and more. You will work with some of the coolest talented people and technologies on the planet, including: OS X, Cocoa, Oracle, RESTful web services, NoSQL and web platform technologies including Spring, Hibernate, JBoss, Apache, and more.

Education

BS or higher in a technical discipline.

Additional Requirements This is an exciting role demanding a strong background in technology, software engineering, fostering partnerships, and strength in communication. Must have extensive experience in enterprise systems and software architecture, design, and development. Working knowledge of the full SW development lifecycle. Strong knowledge of concurrency, scalability and fault tolerant designs. Proven track record working with cross-functional teams, bringing global projects to completion on-time, with focus on customer experience. Thrive in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment, operating at both strategic and tactical levels.
