Aerospace's Cyber Assessments and Research Department (CARD) is looking for a mid-level Section Manager to lead and grow a team of cyber warriors who design, implement and deploy cyber assessment solutions to identify vulnerabilities and threats of our nation's space enterprise. We support a variety of customers including the Space Missile Systems Center (SMC), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), and other civil customers (e.g. NASA), as they all face incredible challenges in protecting their ground networks and satellite systems from sophisticated adversaries. The section manager will provide technical management and leadership in the areas of cyber assessments, Penetration testing, RedBlue team activities, threat hunting, and prototype development to help strengthen our customers' security posture as they migrate from legacy stove-piped systems to highly resilient, distributed systems utilizing the latest technology, techniques and tactics available. In this role, the section manager works closely with the Cyber Assessments and Research Department Director to provide leadership, planning, and direction of technical office staff and operations within the Cyber Assessments and Threat Hunting Section. The selected candidate assigns resources, determines staffing needs, and coordinates activities and operations among subordinate units, as well as communicates and coordinates activities to management and internal customers. Key Functions Perform cyber assessments and penetration tests of mission systems and provide recommendations and mitigations Lead the development of cyber assessment, pen-testing, and threat hunting tools to identify critical vulnerabilities on active mission systems. Assigns and coordinates work activities within organization monitors workload, work progress and schedules, ensures completion of organization's work assignments within cost and schedule guidelines Provides technical and managerial oversight to MTS staff in the Cyber Assessments and Threat Hunting Section Seeks and identifies opportunities for additional, expanded and new business and assists higher management in the evaluation and pursuit of new opportunities Participates in day-to-day technical task planning and issue resolution Conducts staff performance reviews and recommends performance improvement, career development, salary and promotion actions establishes staffing needs and recommends reassignments, training, transfers, and other staff deployments assists other supervisors in evaluation and assignment of staff. Monitors and directs section's security processes, compliance, and safety awareness Engineering functionsorganizations Directs technical group performing cyber assessment and threat hunting activities. Manages ongoing operation within the Section. Directs achievement of engineering assignments within project schedule and cost guidelines Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field At least one Cyber Security Certification (i.e., GPEN, OSCP, CEH, GSEC) with hands on experience in operational environments Proficient in one or more programming languages including but not limited to CC++, Python, Java. 5 or more years of experience and knowledge of penetration testing and threat hunting methodologies and tools to include planning, scoping and executing live assessments Experience and knowledge of current and emerging technologies, tools and methodologies in the security industry Solid understanding of space andor critical infrastructures and cyber principles applied throughout all segments of the space architecture Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of contractors, customers, and corporate staff Strong written and oral communications and interpersonal skills Demonstrated technical leadership and the ability to work effectively with customers, Aerospace, and contractor personnel Limited travel may be required Current and active TSSCI clearance with willingness to take a polygraph Preferred Experience with space vehicle assessments and analysis Advanced computer science or cyber security degree Strong understanding of networking technologies (routers, switches, TCPIP) Expertise with security technologies (IDS, IPS, FW, AV, Proxies, DLP, PKI, SSLTLS, SSL visibility, VPN) Knowledge of ETG capabilities and demonstrated interaction with ETG and Program Office personnel Equal Opportunity Commitment The Aerospace Corporation is an Equal OpportunityAffirmative Action employer.
