Our data centers serve as the foundation upon which our software operates to meet the demands of our customers. The Quality and Reliability (QRE) team supports our data centers by developing standardized processes and procedures, perform root cause analysis associated with equipment related issues and work to optimize the asset performance by monitoring the asset health indicators, maintenance strategies and failure data. The ideal candidate for this role will be organized, able to shift seamlessly between technical understanding of data center equipment and smaller daily tasks and demonstrate excellent communication skills. This person should be a detail-oriented, get-things-done professional who can think methodically, adapt quickly, and rapidly earn credibility and trust within our Facility Operations (FacOps) teams. This position is full-time and is based in Reston office.Quality and Reliability Engineers at Facebook fill the mission-critical role of ensuring that our complex, large-scale systems are healthy, monitored, automated, and designed to scale. You'll use your interest in facility operations and your experience of mechanical and/or electrical systems to work closely with other cross functional partners to identify program changes and reliability improvements of our equipment throughout their complete lifecycle. In specific, this individual will work closely with FB's global Asset Management team to ensure alignment. Gain deep knowledge of our complex mechanical and/or electrical equipment applications, helping determine means of improvement for the overall health and performance of one or more of them Support in further developing and improving reliability programs for QRE team in alignment with the Asset Management team. Execute key functional tasks within the reliability program while building consensus across cross-functional teams. These tasks include but are not limited to:o Perform foundational reliability studies like asset criticality assessments, reliability centered maintenance (RCM) and bad actor analysis. o Develop standardized PM templates for critical assets in coordination with the subject matter experts and Asset Management teamo Develop a data collection, monitoring and reporting with the regional QRE team members to report on badactors and initiate corrective actiono Gather and examine basic reliability data from field studies or database and correlates the data for analysis using reliability engineering techniques (i.e. Weibull, MTBF), principles Analyze existing business processes, identify gaps, conduct root cause analysis (RCA) if needed, and find opportunities for improvement. Ability to work with unstructured and incomplete data to draw insightful findings Serve as a technical expert leveraging analytical engineering skills to successfully support operational needs, program direction, and tools development Effectively plan and collaborate with team members, stakeholders and suppliers on data driven projects to improve internal tools, systems, and data pipelines Minimum Requirements Received a B.A./B.S. Degree or higher in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering, or related technical field or 10+ years in industry experience. 5 years leading reliability and maintenance programs. Knowledge of technical equipment such as mechanical, electrical and/or controls systems. Experience leading predictive and preventive maintenance programs. Experience in conducting Failure Modes and Effects Analysis and its application. Experience in executing Reliability Centered Maintenance initiatives. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Function well in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment Self-motivated, excellent interpersonal skills, with a positive attitude and the ability to work with people from varied backgrounds and experiences. Strong oral and written communications skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross functional teams Desired Skills Data center or critical facility operations experience. RCM 2 Practioner 10 years leading reliability and maintenance programs/initiatives Certified Reliability Engineer (i.e. CRL, CMRP) Experience with various databases and business visualization/intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc.
