College Board, a national educational organization, is conducting a search for a DevOps Engineer II - Identity & Access Management in Information Technology, in our Reston, VA office or remote work arrangementAbout the roleThe DevOps engineer is part of a development team that has ownership over its products, owning things all the way from start to production use. The ownership includes understanding how to get software in production fast and watching its health and use.The DevOps engineer understands and uses a variety of instrumentation and techniques to stabilize and improve product features. They bring insights from production to the rest of the team. Within the engineering team, the engineer makes decisions that strengthen the product. Because the engineer knows how customers are using their products and how the product behaves, they can drive feature prioritization and innovation.Responsibilities of the role Build and release solutions that include the code, the underlying infrastructure, and the systems required to deploy it.Use your knowledge and experience in DevOps practices, automation, infrastructure orchestration, configuration management, and continuous integration to help College Board manage, tune and automate the workforce user identities and their lifecycles.Deploy new and maintain existing tooling to automate worker accounts in on-premises user directories and cloud directories.Flex your professional autonomy and discretion within the team.Participate in feature development with the team and be accountable for results.Participate in on-call escalations to troubleshoot issues.Participate in team on-call schedule.Solicit perspectives and ideas from others to resolve problems.Recommend product changes and help implement improvement experiments using modern engineering design methods.Read, digest, and summarize enormous quantities of complex data.Qualifications needed for the roleBachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience in relevant technical positions.Software Engineering Experience: Ability to code in modern software languages.Strong knowledge of cloud computing, especially Azure services.Strong knowledge of Cloud Identity and Cloud Security.Experience in monitoring and proactive problem identification.Relevant understanding of networking, database, security, and operating system concepts.Experience in CICD tools.Excellent written and verbal communication, able to collaborate and rally support.Preferred skills for the roleIndependently determine and develop solutions, corrective actions, or resolutions for problems while meeting deadlines and competing priorities.Effectively communicate specialized information about programs, operations, or services to varied audiences fostering a high trust culture.Conceptualize, write and present varied materials informing constituents of various products and services.Generously shares job knowledge.Take initiative, predict and provide insight into project roadmaps in support of both individual and group goals.Interact closely with senior technical team members.Seek direct feedback from customers to determine program, product, or service effectiveness.Effectively delegates tasks to others and is accountable for the quality of results.Establishes clear expectations on work assignments and communicates constructive feedback on a regular basis.Provide constructive guidance and coaching to other staff within the work unit, as appropriate.Independently makes decisions that affect the achievement of assigned objectives, consistent with professional standardsAnalyze costs, resources and benefits to reduce cycle time and improve quality
