The Microsoft Corporation is seeking an exceptional leader to join our National Security organization as an Industrial Security Specialist in the Washington DC metro area.

Security Clearance Requirements: The successful candidate must be a United States citizen and have active US Government Security Clearance based on a Tier 5 investigation and the ability to pass a polygraph. Candidate must be able to travel to customer sites as required. The selected candidate must be able to start within 30 days of offer acceptance.

Basic Qualifications:

* Active or Eligible TS Security Clearance (most recent Tier 5 investigation within the last 4 years). * 2 years of Personnel Security experience, or 1 year of experience with applicable bachelor's degree. * Working knowledge of applicable guides and government systems - NISPOM, NCAISS, NISS, DISS, JPAS, and eQIP. * Working knowledge of SIMS (or other Government personnel database management system). * Possess an understanding of the Process Maturity Model. * Ability to work independently to identify, assess, & resolve unique security situations with innovative solutions geared to facilitate contract performance within the bounds of security requirements. * Ability to travel to customer locations upon request.

Preferred additional skills: (candidate with preferred skills will have priority)

* Security Volumes 1-4, Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), NISPOM, NISPOM Supplement Experience with Special Access Program Security. * Completion of CDSE Facility Security Officer (FSO) certification. * Completed a CSSO Course, with an IC customer, within the past 5 years. * Knowledge of access control and alarm maintenance. * Familiarity with the Continuous Evaluation Program. * Six-Sigma methodology or equivalent training. * Experience working in teams and matrix environments. * Experience in counterintelligence, Insider Threat, and OPSEC programs.

If hired for this position, the team you would be joining is part of our Cloud organization and/or works with government contracts and as such has a unique background check requirement, detailed below. Please note you will be provided with steps for completing the check if you accept a role on the team.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screening(s):

* Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

The successful candidates must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.

Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.

Qualified candidates should have a working knowledge of Government Systems to include IC customer processes. Experience working with Facility Security Officers (FSO) and Contractor Specialist Security Officers (CSSO) are required. Must have industry or related consulting experience in personnel or industry security. Strong oral/written communication, organization, and interpersonal skills combined with effective negotiation skills and a demonstrated effectiveness in a managerial role are required.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Providing continuous oversight and tracking of personnel clearances and clearance related actions, track self-inspections for disparate sites, execute and/or support government security compliance audits for classified spaces. * Responsible for all aspects of security services: customer satisfaction, services delivery, and operations. * Development, implementation, and oversight of security processes and procedures for clearances and clearance related actions, classified or proprietary materials, documents, and equipment. * Conduct studies and implement federal security regulations that apply to company operations. * Obtains rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations from government agencies. * Investigates security violations, incidents, and prepares reports with administrative inquiries. * Acts as primary contact for ensuring the delivery and execution of specific personnel security briefings and indoctrination material. * Actively participates in Government security audits and maintains records for such audits. * Assists the Corporate FSO with the execution of an insider-threat program. * Provides security support and direction including the development and maintenance of FCL sponsorship and security guidance. * Interacts with senior/executive management on matters pertaining to security policy and procedures.
