The Leidos Innovations Center has an exciting opening for you, our next System Engineering Manager, to assist with the release of a state-of-the-art technology stack supporting a developing NMEC program providing systems engineering support in our Reston, VA or Bethesda, MD office.  

You will work closely with the systems engineers, program managers, architects, software and data engineers, security officers and data scientists on the following key tasks:
•    Coordination, and execution of systems engineering activities such as feature/requirements analysis, design, implementation planning, documentation and risk assessment
•    Act as the scrum master for systems engineering team and keep track of design sessions and documentations assigned to each SE
•    Solicit design session topics and program priorities with PMO
•    Plan and conduct review sessions of upcoming features with Customer
•    Track systems engineering tasks within time-boxed (e.g. agile) sprints and releases 
•    Support program planning activities as well as the creation of and/or input to work tickets (e.g. JIRA)
•    Support and manage systems engineering documentation through the use of collaboration software (e.g. Confluence)
•    Support  and employ MBSE approach for systems planning, design, execution, and sustainment in coordination with the Chief Engineer and SE team members
•    Review systems engineering documentations for consistency and accuracy
•    Keep track and update Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL)
•    Support program’s security team by planning for and providing systems engineering documents needed for security approvals

•    Assist in the development and maintenance of systems engineering documentation and diagrams/models working in coordination/collaboration with Lead SE and SE team members
•    Hold daily scrums and document minutes/actions/status
•    Participate in release planning, scrum of scrums, bug triage and other pertinent meetings

This is you:
•    BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience with 12+ years in system engineering or related field. 10+ years of experience with Master’s degree.
•    Active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance
•    At least 5+ years’ experience working as a systems engineer or leading a team of systems engineers
•    Experience with supporting big data application development 
•    Experience/knowledge of key Agile processes, ceremonies and techniques
•    Experience with Gitlab (workflow), JIRA, and Confluence
•    Experience with MBSE approach and tools or experience with framework/approach similar to MBSE
•    Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler 
•    Experience with creating and reviewing contract documentation
•    Ability to track tasks and sequence of events 
•    Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience 
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic, fast-pace environment

•    Experience with the deployment and operationalization of AI/ML services, microservices architectures
•    Experience with cybersecurity requirements
•    Experience with Software and Hardware procurement process and documentation
•    Scaled Agile Framework certification (SAFe Agilist or other)
•    Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous development
