Currently, HGL is seeking 2 Assistant Subcontracts Administrators to join our team in Reston, VA. The Assistant Subcontracts Administrators will be responsible for coordinating a variety of administrative activities in support of our Contracts team. This is a great entry-level position for a motivated, detail-oriented candidate who wants to gain experience in the exciting, fast-paced environment of government contracting.Responsibilities/DutiesThe Assistant Subcontracts Administrators will provide subcontract-related administrative support throughout the full subcontract life-cycle including solicitation, price/cost analysis, drafting, negotiation, administration, and closeout. This position requires the ability to work closely with project managers and navigate the needs of both internal and external stakeholders. Duties will include but are not limited to:Assist with the procurement of subcontractors by issuing invitations to bids and requests for proposalsSupport the development of cost proposals submitted to the government and prime contractorsAdminister assigned subcontracts to include subcontract drafting, negotiation, and closeoutPrepare CPSR compliant subcontract documentation in accordance with Public Law, FAR, and DFARSMonitor subcontractors by tracking deadlines, assessing performance, and confirming compliance with other legal requirements of the subcontractCoordinate with other departments, colleagues, and subcontractors to preempt issues and resolve issues as necessaryAssess and determine the appropriate terms and conditions, including customer flow-down provisionsEnter and maintain subcontractor and bid information into databases and excel spreadsheetsPrepare and submit monthly and annual reportsProvide general office support including document review, file maintenance, and meeting coordinationSpecial projects as assignedRequired SkillsDetail Oriented- You pay attention to the details and ensure that all work is completed with a high degree of accuracy.Effective Communicator- This position requires strong interpersonal skills and a proven record of building relationships. You understand internal/external stakeholder requirements, expectations, and needs. You have excellent oral, written, editing skills, and presentation.Team Mindset- Strong service skills with the ability to work in a team environment and foster positive and collaborative work habits.Willing to Take Initiative- You like learning new things and take initiative to get results rather than waiting for things to happen. You have the ability to work independently with limited direction.Priority & Deadline Management- You understand what is a priority and can independently manage tight deadlines to completion.Microsoft Office- You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and are particularly skilled at Excel and Word.Required Experience0 - 2 years of relevant experience working as a Subcontracts or Contracts Administrator.Experience with various types of contracts, including FFP, FFPLOE, CPFF, T&M, and IDIQ is a plus.Experience with government subcontract file documentation, CPSR requirements, and the proposal process for federal acquisitions is a plus.Required EducationBA/BS in accounting, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management, or another business-related course of study are preferred. or HSD plus 4 - 6 years of directly related experience.DetailsA pre-hire drug test is required. Some positions may require US Citizenship. Some positions may require the ability to pass installation background checks.
