Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure and Systems Administration, the Technical Specialist role is to assist in delivery of services to internal and external customers. This includes troubleshooting problems that are raised by the customer or through an automated monitoring system. Candidates will be included in the on-call rotation and responsible for incident management ensuring adequate communication to necessary parties. Incidents are to be remediated to the best ability of the candidate or be escalated to appropriate personnel to assist in remediation. Additional requirements may include assisting teams with planned activities where regular maintenance may be scheduled after normal business hours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review of documents for accuracy and ensure owners are made aware of inadequacies
  • Review of diagrams for accuracy and ensure owners are made aware of inadequacies
  • Assessing automated alerting checks and thresholds to improve targeted service levels
  • Assist in recurring maintenance activities for system updates and security activities
  • Assist in asset collection and maintaining inventory of corporate assets
  • Preparing end-user devices and peripherals for new and existing employees
  • Deployment of applications and services to end-users as part of ongoing activities
  • Maintaining internal user accounts and assisting in regular audits and reports
  • Troubleshooting end-user reported issues to the best of your ability and escalate when needed to the appropriate resource
  • On-Call rotation where the user will be required to acknowledge alerts generated by monitoring system. This includes installation of incident management application for push notifications
  • Contribute to a Tier 1 support group and collaboratively work to resolve escalated issues and incidents that may occur
  • Actively acknowledge tickets generated in support portal or create tickets by users submitting incident via phone

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Bachelors degree highly preferred
  • 2 years of related previous professional experience
  • Adequate knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Adequate knowledge of Microsoft end-user products and tools
  • Working knowledge of change management process
  • Efficient time management skills identifying and prioritizing tasks

While Altruista Health is located in Reston, VA, you may live anywhere in the U.S. Altruista Health has implemented special remote working policies due to COVID-19. These policies are subject to change; however, it is currently expected that this position will work remotely (e.g. from home) full time through June 2021.
