Job Description:

As an AIS Project Coordinator, you will have the ability to support clients and collaborate with team members.  Project Coordinators are responsible for assisting projects in ways that model delivery excellence by meeting contractual obligations, managing risk, promoting client satisfaction, realizing profitability targets, and complying with AIS project management standards and processes.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Coordinating and executing project and operations plans, following AIS’ project management approach.
  • Building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Tracking stakeholder needs, deliverables, and associated documentation.
  • Leading and coordinating meetings.
  • Gathering, documenting, and updating information about project and staffing status and needs.
  • Conducting forecasting to understand the impact of various scenarios.
  • Identifying, tracking, mitigating, and reporting on risks.
  • Maintaining and communicating situational awareness.
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Growing your career in project management by building credibility through effective communication and problem-solving as you gain experience.

Location and Travel Details

This is currently a remote position, however once COVID restrictions are lifted, this position does require travel into our Reston Office.


Security Clearance and Citizenship Requirements

Must be able to obtain and/or maintain a Secret Clearance.


Profile of Success

  • Minimum one year of experience coordinating team members to keep workflow on track, demonstrating success:
    • Evaluating problems and developing solutions.
    • Organizing and managing information, such as project schedule and requirements, from multiple stakeholders.
    • Ensuring all necessary documentation is updated, accurate, and properly stored.
    • Communicating clearly, professionally, and effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
    • Facilitating meetings.
    • Preparing and delivering presentations.
  • Awareness of methodologies for managing budgets including monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Understanding of project management methodology and working knowledge of Agile.
  • Demonstrated success evaluating potential problems and developing solutions.
  • Firm grasp of details as evidenced by some combination of notetaking, asking thoughtful questions, explaining details and implications to team members and/or clients, or accurate and professional correspondences.
  • Ability to organize multiple sources of information, synthesize and present findings, and make logical decisions about priorities and actions to take.
  • Track record of consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Commitment to client service.
