The public U.S. Citizens, Nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. VideosHelp Duties The major duties of the IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS) position include, but are not limited to, the following: Performing needs analyses to define opportunities for new or improved business process solutions Conducting business process reengineering, feasibility studies and trade-off analyses Preparing business cases for the application of IT solutions Ensuring the integration of all systems components; e.g., procedures, databases, policies, software, and hardware Ensuring the rigorous application of information security/ information assurance policies, principles, and practices to the systems analysis process Help Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship required. Qualifications All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-11/04/2021-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To qualify for the IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS) position at the GS-13 grade, you must meet the all of the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement: Basic Requirements: EDUCATION: Successful completion of a degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of a degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. -OR- EXPERIENCE: Information Technology-related paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification) demonstrating each of the following four competencies: Attention to Detail Communications Customer Service Problem Solving To qualify for the IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS) position at the GS-13 grade, you must meet the following specialized experience by the closing date of this announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience must include all of: 1) Preparing yearly cost estimates for Wide Area Network (WAN) connections for an organization; 2) Finding opportunities within existing contracts and other sources to reduce circuit costs; 3) Participating in short- or long-term planning strategies relating to an organization's Telecommunications program; 4) Developing accurate records of network installations or circuits; and 5) Providing expert technical advice and recommendations to management and other technical teams on existing and future deployments of networks and related technologies. You must include your resume with hours worked per week annotated. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as 'varies'. Experience listed as full-time will be credited at 40 hours per week. Education There is no substitution of education for experience at the grade level(s) of this announcement. To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking.
