Job Description:
Applied Information Sciences is seeking an IT Specialist to
perform system administration in an efficient and accurate manner.
You will be part of the firm's frontline team providing support for
complex internal infrastructure, as well as end-user support across
the company. The goal will be to ensure that system configuration
and solutions are maintained according to standards set forth by
the company. What You'll Be Doing
- The position will perform system administration tasks,
including user/group administration, security permissions, group
policies, research event log warnings and errors, and resource
monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together
seamlessly
- Conduct cloud security assessments, evaluating configurations,
and provide recommendations to improve security posture.
- The position will review new concepts, guide the design and
implementation of secure solutions and services across IT
support---areas---by setting quality standards for
tools,---techniques,---and methodologies, advising on
their---application,---and ensuring---compliance in a repeatable
way either through documentation and/or automation.
- The position will interact with users to troubleshoot complex
system issues in all areas needed: storage networking, operating
system, network security, directory services, server virtualization
using system backup and restore, system and network monitoring,
application installation, and configuration
- The position will assist with maintaining internal
infrastructure requirements including, laptop and desktop
computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones,
security updates; support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and
network segments
- Maintain necessary qualifications to obtain and maintain
privileged system access which may include additional M365 security
or Azure certifications
- Obtain or utilize certifications as part of continuous
professional---growth--- Location and Travel DetailsThe position
will be located onsite in Reston, VA Security Clearance and
Citizenship RequirementsAble to obtain a clearance in the future
Profile of Success
- Security + Certification
- 2 years or more of relevant technical experience in the
following:
- Hands-on experience with M365 and Azure cloud administration:
- Including but not limited to Azure, AzureAD, Exchange Online,
Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and One Drive
- Understanding of the zero trust security model and how to
implement M365 and Azure solutions to achieve zero trust.
- Demonstrated experience in an IT position supporting various
versions of the Windows platform, internet browsers, and customer
developed applications used in a high paced business
environment
- Experience with scripting languages such as Powershell
- Experience or knowledge using and/or implementing Microsoft 365
Security and Compliance solutions including but not limited to the
Microsoft 365 Defender Suite (Defender for Endpoints, Defender for
Office 365, Defender for Cloud Apps), Information Protection
(Sensitivity Labels, Encryption, Data Loss Prevention), Information
Governance/Records Management, and eDiscovery. Desirable Skills
- Experience or knowledge using and/or implementing Microsoft
Sentinel, Log Analytics and Kusto Query Language (KQL).
- Intune experience or knowledge
- Experience with automation to Infrastructure (IaC----
Infrastructure as Code)
- Knowledge of cybersecurity and compliance frameworks such as
