Job Description:

Amyx is seeking a Sr. Operations Advisor to be located in Reston, VA. The Sr. Operations Advisor shall assist the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA)/Joint Improvised Threat Defeat Organization (JIDO) Operations Division (J3) in focusing and coordinating current operational activities to assist in Countering Threat Networks (CTN) with a primary focus on supporting the organization's operations directorate. The Sr. Operations Advisor shall support the JIDO J3 Directorate lead in coordination, synchronization, planning and staffing of deliverables to the J3 and the Director across the broad range of missions and support. Responsibilities will include daily interaction with organizations senior leadership, internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the resolution of urgent warfighter operational support issues. The position directly supports the JIDO J33 Current Operations Team. This position supports a dynamic organization at the forefront of protecting American Lives and Our Allies against current and emerging asymmetric threats. You will be an integral and valued member of a small team of professional, resourced and dedicated within the JIDO Operations Directorate. You and your teammates will conduct deliberate, future and rapid planning to support countering threat networks and support of embedded elements of JIDO deployed across the globe. Daily interaction with US military, government civilians, retired and former US military; all dedicated to supporting the Warfighter. Responsibilities The primary job responsibilities are inclusive of, but not limited to, the following: * Reports to the Current Operations team leadership
* Interacts directly with the J3 and organization senior leadership team in the coordination of support to the organization as the operations directorate.
* Possess ability conceptualize abstract ideas and input and derive actionable strategies and courses of action. * Ability to work in time constrained environment with minimal guidance and supervision.
* Assist in deliberate and rapid planning.
* Attends In Progress Reviews, Operational Planning Teams, Tiger Teams, confirmation briefs and other meetings/forums, as required, as the J33 representative. * May have to travel within National Capitol Region (NCR) as part of support to J3 for meetings, conferences, etc. * Maintaining situational awareness and understanding of the C-IED Common Operating Picture (COP)
* Assists the J3 in management of the JIDO Collaborative Planning System (CPS) and daily and weekly deconfliction of CPS tasks and assignments.
* Maintain awareness of JIDO engagement activities and senior level events and other information critical to the organization's engagement of internal and external stakeholders.
* Provide J3 Overview to the JIDO Orientation Program (JOP), when required. * Facilitate the JIDO Calendar Synchronization Meeting (JCSM), when required. * Conduct mission analysis, as required, and coordinate staff actions in support of JIDO mission areas, processes, and three core functions against current and emerging improvised threats.
* Identify gaps in planning logic and actively recommend improved course of action. * Informs the decision making cycle for a diverse joint organization.
* Actively informs senior leadership situational awareness.
* Establishes a shared understanding among staff components by developing and issuing mission type orders; to include primary action officer for the generation of fragmentary orders (FRAGOs).
* Actively mitigates risk by preparing for contingency operations. * Provide staff support, facilitation and coordination at meetings, program reviews, conferences and briefings, prepare materials (point papers, talking points, agendas, etc.), host and participate in events, record minutes and track action items. * SharePoint Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree from accredited university
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in a DoD Service, Agency, or Organization
* Experience working at a Division or higher Headquarters
* Experience interacting with senior government civilians and military (SES/GO/FO)
* Candidate that is innovative and motivated to overcome obstacles and accomplish mission; while managing short timelines and minimal government oversight
* Superior written and oral communication skills
* Proficient in office software such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Tableau
* Current Top Secret/SCI
Travel Requirements: * 10% Desired Skills and Qualifications: * 15 years, or greater, experience in a DoD Service, Agency, or Organization
* Experience working at/with Headquarters Department of Army or Headquarters US Marine Corps Staff
* Experience working with/on a Combatant Command Staff * Combat Arms background/experience operating in fluid, time sensitive environment
* Deployed experience (military, contractor or government civilian) in Middle East, Africa, Europe or Pacific Rim
