As analysts, we utilize our domain expertise in fluid flow and all forms of heat transfer to develop analysis and test approaches that predict the thermal response of liquid rocket engine hardware from blank-sheet concepts through development, test, and qualification. Your responsibilities will include building engine-level thermal models suitable for quantifying subsystem interactions and ancillary component environments, developing thermal protection solutions for propulsion and fluid components and systems, and performing system-level trade and optimization studies.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight.   • Developing system-level thermal analysis models of rocket engines at varying levels of maturity and detail with supervision
  • Anchoring thermal predictions to test data
  • Communicating and collaborating clearly and effectively with multiple teams both as a customer and provider of fluid and thermal data
  • Growing your knowledge and analytical expertise through consistent mentorship and peer reviews of your work
  • Documenting your work for future reference and later refinementQualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
    • Minimum of 3 years of industry experience performing thermal analysis within the space industry or a related field
    • Solid understanding of heat transfer, fluid flow, and thermodynamic first principles
    • Experience with Thermal Desktop and/or SINDA/FLUINT
    • Good communication skills and proficiency with productivity tools
    • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Desired:
      • Master's or doctorate degree with thesis/dissertation topic relating to heat transfer and fluid flow
      • Knowledge surrounding cryogens and phase change heat transferThe expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
