Our employees are integral players in support of mission-critical programs focused on our National Security. -- Network Analysts are part of a team that supports data development, collection, analysis and ultimately, operations support. Qualified candidates must have at minimum working knowledge of telecommunications systems and their uses. Network analysts identify, analyze, and model (logically and physically) various types of t elecommunications,-- cellular, IP, satellite, and microwave networks and use their knowledge to provide technical guidance to operations. They must be comfortable with ambiguity and fragmented information, while at the same time providing analytical assessments and recommendations. Ideal candidates will have a sound, well rounded technical background and be able to identify, communicate and resolve information gaps that could directly affect operational objectives. -- Duties: Demonstrate real world telecommunications industry knowledge; awareness of industry standards and engineering practices, equipment architecture and functionalities, transmission protocols, support infrastructure - both inside and outside plant. Experience researching, designing, integrating, and securing various types of networks; able to identify vulnerabilities. Experience with telephony and/or data networks; strong understanding of technologies such as-- SONET/SDH,-- OTN, MSAN, MPLS/IP-MPLS,-- VOiP,-- DWDM, SDN; Knowledge of RF related technologies such as GSM and CDMA cellular, microwave and VSAT. Working knowledge of network modeling software, and/or computer assisted CAD applications. * Working knowledge of GIS a plus. * Ability to interpret and understand data from network management systems. Experience with network forensics and computer network operations; perform network architecture analysis and traffic analysis. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to colleagues at same, and at times less, capability. Qualifications: Current Industry/commercial experience preferred. Five years minimum professional work experience in this field, preferably as a facility engineer or network planner. Willing to commit to a minimum of 2-3-year assignment, with long term extension possible. Work is in Northern Virginia, with occasional travel to partner-- facilities,-- particularly in the greater Washington, DC area. To be eligible for this role you must hold an active TS/SCI with Polygraph. -- Top Secret/SCI
